[June 28th 2010]

We are very pleased to announce the following with regards to Elite Ladders:

1. Joomla - Joomla registration bridge has now been completed and work begins on some special components.

2. Security Fixes - There are always changes in the way servers operate and EliteLadders keeps on top of these. The latest security patches are included with the file download.

3. Staff - Wwe are pleased to annouce that Elite Ladders has acquired the services of two experienced Mod Developers. They will be helping members on the commuity forum as well and developing ongoing enhancements for the Elite Ladders script.

4. Challange Chat - The chat area has proved a great success on the ladder standings pages. We have now added this to the challange process so that opposing teams/players have the ultimate in live communication.

5. New Theme - Included free in the downloadable files in a new transparent look version of the standard theme.

Latest enhancements delighting clients

[April 12th 2010]

The recent hard work in evolving the script have received much acclaim. In particular, clients are relishing the following additions:

1. My Teams - members are able to see the status of all challenges on every page of the site which means they do not miss important actions.

2. Member XP / Hall of Fame - members are reporting significant increases in overall activity on their site as members become more motivated to remain active on their site. Activity = XP and this is shown on the site's Hall of Fame, and in each member's profile page.

3. Premium/VIP Members and Donations - A donations page which tracks and, more importantly, rewards members who donate money to the site is proving a great revenue earner for clients. Members who donate can be placed in the new Premium/VIP Member usergroup and have their name in Gold.

4. Ladder Chat - Each ladder that is created automatically has it's own chat room created as well. This is proving popular as it helps clans and single players discuss, arrange and talk about matches on the site.

5. Display Manager - Clients are enjoying the new Display Manager which makes it very simple for them to activate and deactivate specific blocks on all pages of the site. They can even allow members to choose what they wish to see on the site, which is often an inducement for their member's to become Premium. They can then allow them to remove Ads on the site, for example.

Ongoing work continues as usual, and there are some great modules coming up over the next couple of months.

V3.5 has now finished and can be downloaded by new clients. Existing clients who are still within their 1 year of Support and Upgrades period can download V3.5, at no extra charge, from their Client Area.

V3.5 retains most of the look and feel of V3.2 but comes with enhancements, mainly in the form of better admin to member communication, enhanced CMS type qualities, better notification of matches and challenges, enhanced commenting system, and a new theme.

You can check out the Features section for a list of the major changes.

Vbulletin interface Mod re-released

[Dec 18th 2009]

We have added the previous Vbulletin Mod to the download area. It is still pretty complex and we do still offer an installtion service for it but we have reviewed it, rewritten the instructions and we do believe we have made it sinmpler to follow!

Basically, it can import ALL your current Vbulletin members into the ladder script, and they will keep the same username and password. It will then send visitors to register via the forum in future, and these visitors become members of both.

Make sure you read the instructions VERY CAREFULLY that come with the mod. Contact us via Support if you need any help.

Videos Page Mod released

[Dec 9th 2009]

This is a custom page which displays a configured selection of YouTube videos. You can download this FREE Mod in the Download Area, to your left.

The mod is fairly basic and was created for a client who wanted a way to easily show videos that he has uploaded, to his members. Rather than bolting on one of the many video upload scripts or youtube clones out there we decided it makes far more sense to use YouTube itself. This means your members are familiar with it, can easily virally send your videos, add it gives general exposure to your YouTube channel, which you should have in place anyway as part of your social networking along with the script. Also, the videos are hosted by YouTube which makes a huge difference on your server load.

Make sure you read the instructions that come with the mod. Contact us via Support if you need any help.

New GamerCard system on the way

[Nov 30th 2009]

Although we already have a nice gamercard system within Elite Ladders, as standard, we have decided to really go for it, and develop it even further.

Work has already been started by Mark, the original develop of the gamercard system, on our new idea. The whole gamercard system will be run on a separate domain/website. Clients will use this as a special gamercard community where we plan to have competitions and the ability for clients to upload their own backgrounds.

The main feature benefit will be that not only will the cards take the latest data from the stats of a team on any given ladder but will ALSO take the live PSN/XBLive data from the respective network. We intend to give member of all of our sites the chance to choose what he wishes to show as well. For example, they might wish to show a bit of ladder info and a bit of network info all on the one card, or simply use the card for either.

We expect to get the main bulk of this finished during December with an official release in January. This will be a FREE Mod/Service. There will be minimal file disruption as the main gamercards will be processed at another site. This also cuts down dramatically on your server overheads.

Contact us for further details.

Got a Mod?

[Nov 27th 2009]

We appreciate several clients like to write mods, add their own script enhancements, and are then happy to pass the Mods on to the community.

Mods will be added to the Download area, for easy access by all clients. You can send your Mods to us via the support desk system, or via email: support @ eliteladders.com

Elite Ladders deals with Mods in a few different ways:
  • Free | We will upload your Mod for download to the community. If you wish to be credited with this Mod then you should include your Name and/or Site URL along with the Support Ticket. If you are a programmer by trade then this URL link could be to your trade website.
  • Low Cost | We are happy to give you some beer money for small Mods that we believe add value to the community. No credit will be given in this case. Typically, pay for small mods will be between $2.00 and $25.00
  • Medium Cost | As above but payment for a larger body of work will likely be higher.
  • Large Scale Work | Programmer looking to write full Ad-Ons or Modules with substantial work involved can sell us the rights directly for a one off cost or we can take over the rights but offer commission on each mod sold to the community.

If you have any questions on any of the above then please contact us.

Tips
If you offer Mods for free and get the credit, it a great way to get people to then visit your website where you can sell further Mods yourself! This is fine with us but please make sure that your clients understand that they implement the Mod at their own risk and we may not support it.
